Weekend seminar in Brussels 15 – 17 September 2006 Organised by Political Commission III, Economic Governance
PC Economic Governance warmly invites all interested JEFers to apply for a brainstorming weekend in Brussels to develop JEF's political guidelines on taxation, fiscal and economic governance. Some of the issues discussed will be the future of Eurozone, functioning of the internal market, taxation and welfare, seen from a federal point of view.
During the weekend the Political Commission "Economic Governance" will meet with specialists from different Brussels-based institutions for in-depth discussions, Q&A's while debating among ourselves about viable federal economic governance and fiscal model for the future EU.
All participants have to cover their own travel costs to Brussels themselves. Accommodation will be provided for free.
Please hurry up in registering, so that we can get organised, but also give us your input on your expectation.
All participants (and also other activists in a later stage) are encouraged to contribute to the first edition of "PC III Economic Governance Discussion Papers", which will be published in spring 2007.
All participants will take part in 3 workshops during the weekend. Fore each workshop there will be an external speaker.
Workshop 1 will discuss if the internal market and question if its four freedoms can function without a fully integrated union.
Workshop 2 will discuss the future of the Eurozone.
Workshop 3 is about taxation and welfare – should Brussels decide?
Questions can be directed to EB-member Piia Pappinen (pappinen(at)gmail.com) or chair of PC 3, Frode Fjeldavli (frode.d.f(at)gmail.com).
